Bihar caste census report

Let us tell you that Bihar government has released the results of its caste-based survey on Monday. The census revealed that Other Backward Classes (OBCs) constitute 63 per cent of the state’s population. Also known as the Bihar caste-based enumeration, the census shows that the share of Scheduled Castes in the population of 13 crore is over 19 per cent, while Scheduled Tribes account for 1.68 per cent. The upper castes or ‘Savarna’ constitute 15.52 percent of the state’s population.

Patna High Court had imposed a ban.

The survey, which started in January this year, was put on hold for some time by the Patna High Court. For which BJP supporters were also accused. The leaders of the ruling grand alliance alleged that those who filed the petition were supporters of BJP.
