Weather update: Monsoon activities are gradually reducing in most parts of the country, but it is still in its form in many states. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the hill state of Uttarakhand. In Himachal Pradesh too, the river is in spate. In the country’s national capital Delhi too, the weather has taken a different turn. The humid heat has added to the problems of the people.
Delhi
In the country’s capital Delhi, even today the heat will haunt the people. However, light drizzle is expected in the evening. There is a possibility of rain on 14 and 15 August. During this, the maximum temperature can be recorded at 36 degrees. At the same time, the minimum temperature will remain around 28 degree Celsius. An increase in the maximum temperature was also observed on last Saturday.
Himachal Pradesh
Heavy rains wreaked havoc at many places in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, causing floods and landslides and blocking over 300 roads. According to the Meteorological Department, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains on Sunday i.e. even today. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for Monday as well.
Mumbai
According to IMD, Mumbai city and its surrounding areas will receive light rain throughout the day today. No change is expected in the coming week. The maximum temperature could be recorded at 30 degrees, while the minimum is expected to be 26 degrees and the humidity is likely to be 86 percent.
Chennai
It will be sunny throughout the day in Chennai while it may be partly cloudy at isolated places. People are expected to get relief for the next three days. Today the maximum temperature is likely to be 35 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature could be recorded at 29 degree Celsius.
Kolkata
Thunderstorms and moderate rain can be recorded in Kolkata. There is no estimate of relief in the state for a few days. Today the maximum temperature will be around 30 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 27 degree Celsius.

Widespread rain accompanied by heavy rain and thunderstorm is expected over Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar and Ganga-West Bengal. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely over Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu.
