41 laborers trapped in the tunnel will soon come out.

Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue Operation: It is taking a long time to rescue the 41 laborers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel of Uttarkashi, but till now no clear information is available as to when it will be possible to get the laborers out of the tunnel. Every day new obstacles are emerging as a new challenge. The American auger machine broke down just 10 meters away from the workers, due to which the rescue work has been halted since yesterday i.e. Friday. Now preparations are being made for drilling on the vertical i.e. the upper part of the tunnel. The hopes of the 41 laborers trapped inside the tunnel and their families outside are being dashed every time. However, continuous efforts are being made to save the workers. Meanwhile, Arnold Dix, an international tunneling expert from America, has given a big statement regarding the workers. He has given a new deadline in his statement.

What did the tunneling expert say?

Speaking to the media, international tunneling expert Arnold Dix on the Silkyara tunnel rescue operation said that it will take time to rescue the workers. He said that all the workers will be at their homes till Christmas i.e. 25th December. This means it will take up to a month from now.

It is worth noting that just two days ago, information was coming out that the rescue work of the workers would be completed very soon, all the workers would come out in a day or two, but this does not seem to be happening. Till now, the responsible officials of the team monitoring the rescue operation have been changing their statements daily. In such a situation, Arnold Dix’s statement has shocked even more. According to his statement, it will take a long time to evacuate the workers.

Will be in vertical drilling

Let us tell you that the auger machine got damaged last night due to the rebar getting stuck in the net. Arnold Dix has said that now drilling will not be done with the auger, nor will any other machine be called. Dix has said that under Plan B, preparations are being made for vertical drilling from above the tunnel. That means now there is preparation for digging from above the tunnel. The machine is being taken to the upper part of the tunnel for vertical drilling. Arnold Dix, while giving the Christmas deadline, said that all the workers would be at home before Christmas. He is safe. If rescue is done hurriedly then more problems may increase. Therefore, the rescue operation is being carried out in the tunnel with utmost caution.

Due to this reason horizontal drilling stopped.

Let us tell you that since November 21, horizontal drilling was being done in the tunnel from Silkyara side. It was successful to a great extent. Out of the 60 meter portion, 47 meter pipe has been laid through drilling. There was a distance of about 10-12 meters left to the workers, but on Friday evening, the shaft of the drilling machine got stuck due to rods coming in front of the drilling machine. When more pressure was applied from the machine, it broke. Some part of it was broken and removed, but a large part is still stuck there. It will be taken out by manual drilling, then further excavation will be done. Actually, only one person can go and dig in the pipe. Therefore, it may take a lot of time to do this.

CM Dhami took stock of the tunnel rescue operation

Meanwhile, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami took stock of the tunnel rescue operation. He also took information from the officials regarding the relief and rescue operations going on in the tunnel. He obtained information regarding the condition of the auger machine. While instructing the officials, the Chief Minister said that the auger machine stuck in the pipe should be removed as soon as possible.
