Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has got bail from the sessions court in the defamation case. He has got this bail till 13 April. But before that Rahul Gandhi will have to file a reply in the court by April 10. However, the court has told Rahul that he need not appear in the court in the next hearing.

Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years in a defamation case by Surat’s sessions court. After which Rahul’s parliamentary membership was lost. The Lok Sabha Secretariat had issued a notice removing Rahul Gandhi from the post of MP. After which on Monday, Rahul Gandhi’s sentence was challenged in the Surat court. After which Rahul along with his legal team reached the court and appeared during the hearing. After this the court granted bail to Rahul. Now the next hearing will be on 13 April. At the same time, hearing on Rahul’s sentence petition will be held on May 3.

Priyanka Gandhi has reached the court today at eleven o’clock in the afternoon along with many veteran leaders including all the three CMs of Congress. Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot are going to attend the Surat court. The Congress party will legally challenge the court’s decision to stay Rahul Gandhi’s sentence. During this, the Congress will give an application regarding Rahul’s bail in the court. After this, there will be a hearing in the court of Surat District Judge or Additional Sessions Judge at 2 pm today. The whole country will be watching this hearing. It will be a matter to be seen whether Rahul Gandhi gets bail from the court or not.
