PM Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the first Vande Bharat Express train to Odisha. The 16 coach train will cover a distance of 500 km between Howrah and Puri. It will take approximately six and a half hours to complete the journey. PM Modi also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several railway projects in Odisha worth over Rs 8,000 crore. PM Modi said that the Vande Bharat Express will further strengthen the religious, cultural and spiritual ties between Howrah and Puri. Today, 15 Vande Bharat trains are running in the country, boosting both connectivity as well as the country’s economy.
PM said – India is moving towards development
During the virtual address, the PM said that in the last several years, India has maintained its pace of development even in difficult circumstances. Also, he said that there is a big reason behind this that every state has participation in development, the country is moving forward by taking every state together. The PM said during the inauguration ceremony that today’s new India is becoming self-reliant even in technology. Along with this, the work of taking new facilities to every nook and corner of the country is going on. The PM said that the country has also built this Vande Bharat train on its own. On 5G technology, he said that it is also being developed and taken to far-flung areas of India.
