The opposition says that the Railway Minister is also responsible for this accident, so he should resign from his post. Let us inform that even before this there have been many such big rail accidents, in which the ministers had resigned from their posts, for this reason the resignation of Ashwini Vaishnav is also being demanded. Meanwhile, taking this matter seriously, Ashwini Vaishnav has handed it over to the CBI for investigation.

This minister has resigned

Let us inform that in the year 1956, the then Railway Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri took moral responsibility and resigned after the Ariyalur train accident in Tamil Nadu. 142 people had lost their lives in this accident. After the resignation of Shastri ji, PM Jawaharlal Nehru had also praised him. Along with this, Bihar’s current CM Nitish Kumar also resigned from the post of Railway Minister after the Assam Gasel train accident in the year 1999. 290 people lost their lives in this accident.

Apart from this, Mamta Banerjee resigned from her post in the year 2000 after two train accidents while being the Railway Minister. However, his resignation was rejected by the then PM Atal Bihar Vajpayee. Then in the year 2016, Suresh Prabhu offered to resign from the post of Railway Minister on 23 August 2017. During his tenure, he took moral responsibility for the derailment of two trains, the Kaifiyat Express and the Puri-Utkal Express. PM Narendra Modi asked him to stay, but Prabhu quit the next month itself.
