JDS joins NDA

NDA JDS Alliance: Bharatiya Janata Party has got a lot of strength before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. Actually, Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) formally joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday. During this, former Karnataka Chief Minister and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda in New Delhi. Goa CM Pramod Sawant was also present during the meeting.

Kumaraswamy met Amit Shah

Former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda and his son Kumaraswamy had met BJP president JP Nadda and Amit Shah on Thursday. For the last few months, there was talk in the political circles of Karnataka that JDS may form an alliance with BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Let us tell you that JDS had formed an alliance with Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, however, the parties had to face defeat. Then BJP alone had won 25 out of 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka.

Opposition alliance India did not give interest to JDS

JDS has earlier formed an alliance with both BJP and Congress in the state. However, in the recent assembly elections held in May, JD(S) had won 19 seats. Which was the worst performance of JDS till date. Let us tell you that JDS was neither invited to the NDA meeting in Delhi nor to the opposition-Alliance India meeting in Bengaluru in July.

HD Kumaraswamy’s statement

After meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, former Karnataka Chief Minister and JDS leader H.D. Kumaraswamy said that today we discussed formally joining hands with BJP and becoming a part of NDA. We have formally discussed preliminary issues. There is no demand from NDA from our side.
