Karnataka Election 2023 Live: Voting continues in Karnataka, 37.25 percent voting till 1 pm

Karnataka Election 2023 Live: Over 5.2 crore voters will cast their votes today to elect a new government in Karnataka. The intense campaigning between the three major parties came to an end here on Monday. A total of 5,31,33,054 voters will cast their votes at 58,545 polling stations across the state. There are 2,615 candidates in the fray for the 224-member Karnataka Assembly seats. The electorate includes 2,67,28,053 males. Whereas, 2,64,00,074 are females and 4,927 are others. Among the candidates, 2,430 are men while 184 are women and one from the third gender. There are also at least 11,71,558 youth voters, while 5,71,281 are persons with disabilities (PWD) and 12,15,920 are above 80 years of age. Voting will continue in Karnataka from 7 am to 6 pm.

Voting is on for the Karnataka Assembly elections. From former CM to many veteran leaders have also voted here. According to the Election Commission, around 20.99 per cent polling has been done till 11 am in the state.

According to Election Commission data, 8.26 per cent polling was recorded in the first two hours of the Karnataka assembly elections on Wednesday. The highest percentage was in the coastal district of Udupi (13.28 percent) and the lowest in Chamarajanagar district (5.75 percent) till 9 am.
