IPL 2024: Former Australian cricketer Justin Langer may be appointed as the next head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. As per reports, he may replace former LSG coach Andy Flower. Flower’s two-year contract with the franchise ended after the end of IPL 2023 (IPL 2023). Justin Langer is currently doing commentary in the ongoing Ashes 2023 series. According to a report, the management of LSG has recently approached Justin Langer. However, so far no official statement has been given by Lucknow Super Giants.

Excellent work by Langer as coach

Justin Langer has done a good job as a coach. Australia won their first T20 World Cup title in 2021 under the coaching of Justin Langer. With this, the Australian team won the Ashes series 4–0. While coaching in the Big Bash League, he has won three titles with the Perth Scorchers. Notably, the Lucknow team has done well under the coaching of Andy Flower and has reached the knockout stage in the last two seasons. As per the report, LSG is expected to retain the rest of its coaching staff with Morne Morkel as the bowling coach, Jonty Rhodes as the fielding coach and Vijay Dahiya as the assistant coach.

However, Kolkata Knight Riders may continue with the old staff under the chairmanship of Chandrakant Pandit despite finishing seventh last season.
