Akash was born on 25 November 1993. His father used to work in the Indian Army. Akash Madhwal has studied Engineering. Earlier he used to play cricket only with tennis ball. One day he reached the team selection trial of Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand coach Manish Jha kept him under his care and started focusing on his bowling.
Mumbai Indians brought Akash Madhwal last year during IPL 2022 as a replacement for Suryakumar Yadav for Rs 20 lakh. However, last year he did not get a chance to play a single match. But in IPL 2023, he has so far taken 13 wickets in 7 matches at an average of 12.85 and an economy rate of 7.77. Akash Madhwal is the only cricketer in the history of IPL playoffs to take five wickets in a match.
