India-China Meeting: The dispute between India and China is not taking the name of stopping. One often hears the news of encounter from the Indo-China border. Recently, the Indian Army chased away the Chinese infiltrators by beating them with sticks. Since then the conflict between the two countries is being witnessed. In such a situation, a WMCC meeting has been held between India and China on Wednesday 22 February to establish peace on LAC. This meeting took place in Beijing, the capital of China. In the meeting, there was talk of restoring peace on LAC. Along with this, it was discussed that how the tension between the two countries on the border can be reduced. Thus, this is the 26th meeting of the WMCC on border matters between the two countries. It was also decided in this meeting that a meeting of the 18th Senior Commander would be called soon.

Please tell that this meeting has been called after three years. The last meeting of WMCC was held on 14 July 2019. The Indian delegation in this meeting is led by Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs. At the same time, the Chinese delegation was led by the Director General of the Department of Boundary and Maritime Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. After the WMCC meeting, the Ministry of External Affairs said that both sides reviewed the situation along the India-China border and accepted the proposals for disengagement from the remaining areas. All efforts are being made to restore peace on the LAC in this sector. After this, both sides said that senior military commander level talks would be held soon.

What is WMCC

Please tell that WMCC was established in 2012. Its main task is to settle border matters through dialogue. There were frequent skirmishes between the two countries on the Indo-China border. Recently, there was news of a dispute between the Indian Army and the Chinese forces in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. In this skirmish, the Indian Army had driven back the Chinese soldiers by beating them with sticks. Due to this, the tension between the two countries increased considerably. The meeting was very important to reduce this tension. In such a situation, the meeting is considered important for peace between the two countries.
