Gaganyaan First Vehicle Testing On October 21: Preparations for the Gaganyaan mission of the Indian Space Research Organization are going on at a rapid pace. Regarding this mission, ISRO chief S. Somnath said in Madurai, Tamil Nadu that the first test vehicle-D1 test flight will be conducted on October 21. Also, he said that after this ISRO will conduct three more testing vehicle missions.

ISRO Chief S. Somnath said that after the first testing, we have made a strategy for three more test missions, D2, D3, D4. Its objective is to ensure the safety of astronauts during the Gaganyaan Mission. Under the Gaganyaan mission, a team of three astronauts was sent 400 km. Will be taken to class . After this, India will show its capability by bringing them back to Earth. Also, he said that there is a great need for testing by demonstrating the crew escape system for the Gaganyaan programme.
Crew escape system is a very important system in Gaganyaan. Gaganyaan is India’s first space mission, it is likely to be sent late next year or early 2025. Also, this will be the first unmanned flight.
What did Aditya say on L-1 mission?
Somnath said India’s first space-based solar mission, the Aditya-L1 spacecraft, is progressing smoothly and is scheduled to reach Lagrange Point 1 (L1) by mid-January. He said it is working very well. Currently, it takes about 110 days to travel from Earth to the L1 point. So by mid January it will reach L1 point. Then after this we will install it there. This is called halo orbit.
