Rahul Gandhi Interview Satyapal Malik: Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik talked to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on many issues. This conversation lasted for about 28 minutes. Army cannot do anything in JK- Satyapal Malik
Regarding Jammu and Kashmir, Satyapal Malik said to Rahul Gandhi that I believe that the army cannot do anything there, but the trust of the people there will have to be won. You can do anything only by winning over the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He further said that I took the people there into confidence.
Malik said that statehood should be returned to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Modi government withdrew Article 370, he did not like it, but the creation of a Union Territory, he liked it. He further said that I feel that they were afraid that the Jammu and Kashmir Police might revolt.
Satyapal Malik spoke on Pulwama attack
When Rahul Gandhi asked a question about the Pulwama attack, Satyapal Malik said that they (Modi government) ignored it and used it politically. He said that the day this happened, he (PM Modi) was shooting at National Corbett, I tried to talk to him, but could not. After this, I got a call around 5 o’clock, then I told about the incident and said that it happened due to our mistake. During this he told me not to say anything. After this again I got a call from Ajit Doval. He also said that you don’t have to say anything. I said okay… maybe investigation will have to be done, but nothing has happened till now nor is it going to happen.
He further said that CRPF had asked for 5 aircraft from the Home Ministry, their application remained with the Home Ministry for four months and then it was rejected. CRPF’s application was kept pending for four months, even though there was input that an attack could take place. He said that the vehicle which collided was loaded with explosives and was roaming around for the last 10 days.
During this time, Rahul Gandhi also shared an incident that happened with him. He told that when the mortal remains of the martyrs were brought to the airport, I was locked in the room. I fought and got out of there. At the same time, Satyapal Malik said that the PM should have gone to Srinagar. Rajnath Singh had come there, I was there and we paid tribute.
