The opposition continued to protest today demanding GPC in the Adani case. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha proceedings could not be completed for the fifth consecutive day due to heavy ruckus between ruling and opposition. In such a situation, both the Houses were adjourned till Monday. During the proceedings in the Lok Sabha, while slogans of Rahul Gandhi’s apologies kept echoing, the opposition raised the demand of GPC in the Adani case by demonstrating in the Parliament premises. The special thing is that this is the first time in this budget session, when former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi appeared together in the protest. Experts say that due to the ongoing tussle between the government and the opposition, this entire session also seems to be going through an uproar.

According to media reports, when the proceedings started in the Lok Sabha today, the ruling party started raising slogans asking Rahul Gandhi to apologise. On the other hand, Congress leaders were seen saying that Rahul Gandhi should be given time to speak. On reaching the well from both sides, they started raising slogans in their favor. The ruckus increased so much that the house was finally adjourned till Monday. Not only this, a similar situation was also seen in the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Parliament. The Rajya Sabha has also been adjourned till Monday.

Opposition parties including Congress demonstrated

Several leaders of the opposition, including the Congress, demonstrated in front of the Gandhi statue in the Parliament complex. Congress leaders said that we want JPC inquiry in Adani case, but our voice is being suppressed. The opposition says that till the Adani case is not investigated by the JPC, it will continue to protest. The special thing is that Congress MPs Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge participated in this demonstration.

Anurag Thakur hit back

Union Minister Anurag Thakur has retaliated on the demand of the Congress. He said that Rahul Gandhi had said yesterday that he is unfortunately a Member of Parliament. It is really unfortunate that he is a Member of Parliament because he is a part of the House, defaming and lying about it on foreign soil. He said that if he is in the House, he might be able to do something. Lying has become his habit. He said that Rahul Gandhi should apologize unconditionally for the statement he made.

Please tell that Rahul Gandhi had said during the press conference that unfortunately I am an MP. I hope I will be allowed to speak in Parliament. He said that first of all I want to place my statement on the floor of the House. Only after this, whatever discussion you have, I will also be happy to discuss it. After this, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had said in his ear that jocks can be made from this. Rahul Gandhi clarified his point on this. He said that I am clearing that unfortunately I cannot answer your questions. Four ministers have leveled allegations against me, I have a democratic right to be given a chance to reply. If India’s democracy is working, then I will be able to say my point in the Parliament.
