According to media reports, the Prayagraj police on Tuesday took out Atiq Ahmed from Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad and left for Prayagraj by road. After the murder, Umeshpal’s wife filed a case against Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, his wife Shaista Parveen, two sons, and 11 others. In this case, Atiq was brought to Prayagraj to appear in the court. Earlier, Atiq was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Prayagraj court in connection with the kidnapping of Umesh Pal.
ED clamped down on close ones
On the other hand, the Enforcement Directorate has also stepped up action against Atiq Ahmed and his close ones. This ED is conducting raids at many places in Uttar Pradesh. This search operation of ED is going on at about 13 locations. The ED has also raided the house of Atiq’s accountant Sitaram Shukla, convicted prisoner Khan Shoulat in Prayagraj.
