Asian Games 2023:Players from Haryana are also proving their talent in the ongoing Asian Games in China. Out of total 655 players from across the country participating in the competition, 85 players are from Haryana. Till now Indian players have won a total of 71 medals. Of these, 19 medals are in the names of players from Haryana. Haryana players are far ahead in the country’s medal table with 6 gold, 3 silver and 10 bronze medals. Be it male or female players, the youth of the state are dominant in every sport.

Haryana players have performed brilliantly in shooting. Shiva Narwal of Faridabad won gold medal in 10 meter air pistol team event while Sarabjot Singh, resident of Ambala district, won gold medal in 10 meter air pistol team event and silver medal in mixed. In 25 meter rapid fire pistol, Adarsh ​​Singh of Faridabad has won bronze medal in the team event and Anish Bhanwala of Karnal has won bronze medal. Whereas in 25 meter sports pistol, Rhythm Sangwan of Faridabad and Manu Bhakar of Jhajjar targeted gold. In shooting itself, Jhajjar’s Palak won gold medal in the individual category and silver medal in the team event in 10 meter air pistol. In the same event, Ramita of Kurukshetra targeted silver medal in the team event and bronze medal in the individual category.

Indian women’s team captured gold in cricket, Rohtak’s Shafali Verma was included in this team. Young player Parminder Singh from Shahpur village of Yamunanagar won the bronze medal in rowing quadruple scull. Aryan Pal Singh Ghuman of Panchkula has won the bronze medal in the men’s 3000 meter speed skating relay race. In athletics, Seema Punia of Sonipat won the bronze medal in discus throw while Preeti Lamba of Faridabad won the bronze medal in women’s 3000 meter steeplechase. Apart from this, Preeti Panwar of Rohtak won the bronze medal in 54 kg weight category in boxing. Rohtak’s Parveen Hooda captured bronze in 57 kg weight category. Also, Narendra Berwal of Hisar won the bronze medal in 92 plus kg weight category in boxing.
