Asian Cup 2023: Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has expressed his grief by tweeting after not getting a place in the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2023. Chahal is currently the highest wicket-taker for India in T20Is. Everyone expected that once again the pair of Kuldeep and Chahal would be seen in the Asia Cup. But this hope was dashed when BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar announced the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2023. He told that Chahal has been dropped for an additional fast bowler. On this, Indian captain Rohit Sharma also said that he could not miss choosing Chahal or R Ashwin as a fast bowling option.
The 33-year-old Chahal shared a cryptic tweet on Twitter after the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023 was announced. In this, he used the sun emoji behind the cloud and then the face sun emoji. It means that the clouds will clear and the sun will shine again. Many Indian senior players have condemned Chahal’s absence from the team. On Chahal’s absence from the team, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan wrote, “The matter of concern for the selectors is the return of Bumrah and the famous Krishna, who have been out of the team for a long time.” You will see playing with an extra bowler who can also bat, but if I had to choose, I would have Chahal in my team.
