Today i.e. on Monday, the Shinde Government of Maharashtra has constituted a SIT committee to investigate the alleged irregularities of Rs 12,024 crore in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). In such a situation, SIT will now investigate this matter. Police Commissioner Mumbai and two senior officers have also been included in this committee. Explain that the Comptroller and Auditor General of India has reported irregularities of Rs 12,024 crore in the expenses incurred by BMC between the month of November 2019 and October 2022. Regarding this, BJP MLA Amit Satam made a formal complaint to CM Shinde and demanded a SIT probe into the matter.

According to media reports, earlier in March this year, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had presented the CAG report on the matter. Several irregularities were mentioned in this report.
