Ukraine apologized after objectionable tweet on Maa Kali, said this

Ukraine apologizes for Kali tweet: Amidst the long-running war with Russia, Ukraine has hurt the religious sentiments of Indians. However, Ukraine has now publicly apologized on this whole issue. This whole matter has heated up after the objectionable picture of Mother Goddess Kali tweeted by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Emin Zhaparova on Tuesday apologized after the country’s Defense Ministry tweeted a picture of goddess Kali. Emine Zhaparova said that Ukraine regrets the wrongly posted picture of Goddess Kali by the Defense Ministry. He further added that the European country respects the unique Indian culture and highly appreciates the support from India.

Actually, shared a photo from the official Twitter handle of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In this, a picture of Maa Kali is visible above the cloud of smoke. The mother’s tongue is seen sticking out and there is a garland of skulls around her neck. This picture is looking very objectionable. Twitter handle @DefenceU shared the image with the caption ‘Work of Art’.

Soon after, a controversy erupted over the objectionable picture of Maa Kali. Many criticized the Ukrainian government saying that after seeking help from India, it was now insulting the goddess. Kanchan Gupta, senior advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, described the picture as an attack on Hindu sentiments. He demanded an apology from Ukraine for the image.
