He said that Congress has always supported direct negotiations for a sovereign, independent, viable and secure state of Palestine and living in peace with Israel.

India was absent in it.

He further wrote in the article that on October 7, the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, Hamas launched a brutal attack on Israel, killing more than a thousand people, mostly civilians, and abducting more than 200. He said that Congress believes that this attack is devastating. He said that Congress had also condemned it. He said that there is no place for violence in a civilized society.
