Raipur. Awareness has increased among people to avoid the serious consequences of heart attack. On an average, thirty calls are being made every day to the emergency 108 service for ambulance to reach the hospital immediately due to chest pain and discomfort. In the last nine months, 77 hundred people have been taken to the hospital on such information, out of which News2News.in Saro had 51 cases of cardiac arrest and the remaining problems were of other types. Serious consequences of heart attack often occur. After this, people’s awareness about heart related diseases has also increased and in case of chest pain, the concerned patient wants to immediately reach the hospital and get it treated. According to doctors, not every chest pain is related to heart disease. Complaints of chest pain also occur due to muscle strain and problems like ACDT, lung infection, skin pain.

This type of problem increases in cold weather, but it is wiser to reach the hospital instead of waiting for the problem to resolve on its own. The seriousness of the discomfort caused by chest pain can be gauged from the fact that on an average thirty calls are made to the emergency 108 service from across the state regarding the problem of chest pain, which are taken to the hospital for treatment. According to the statistics, in the last nine months, about 7700 people had called the emergency services and sought help to be taken to the hospital due to chest pain, out of which there were 50 cases of cardiac arrest.

According to Dr. Smit Srivastava, Head of Cardiology, Advanced Cardiac Institute, the complaint of chest pain increases due to various problems during winter. Eight to ten patients arrive at ACI’s OPD with problems related to chest pain. During investigation, patients are provided treatment related to their problem. According to Dr. Srivastava, even if the problem is not related to the heart, chest pain should be treated immediately.

16 thousand cases in two years

Amit Verma, PRO of the company running Sanjeevani Seva, said, in the last two years, 16 thousand people suffering from chest pain and heart related diseases have been taken to the hospital through Sanjeevani Seva. In the year 2021, due to both the cases together, 6905 people were called and in the year 2022, 9715 people called for ambulance to go to the hospital due to both the problems.
