Philippines accuses China, China Coast Guard stopped its boats

The Philippines accused China of stopping the boat.

The Philippines accused China of stopping the boat.

The Philippines has accused China’s coast guard of water cannoning its ships in the disputed South China Sea, calling it illegal and dangerous. The Philippines said its ships were carrying food, water, fuel and other supplies to Philippine military personnel stationed at Second Thomas Shoal in the Spratly Islands group on Saturday.

To this, China said that it has taken necessary control against the Philippine boats which illegally entered its territorial waters. Explain that Beijing claims almost the entire South China Sea, through which trillions of dollars of trade takes place annually.

US State Department said

The US State Department says that the actions taken by the Chinese Coast Guard can directly threaten regional peace and stability. China’s claim on almost the entire sea has not yet been accepted internationally. Trillions of dollars in trade pass through the sea each year, with competing claims from Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.

The Philippines, on the other hand, says that Chinese coast guard and navy ships routinely intercept or shadow Philippine ships patrolling disputed waters. The incident was the first time since November 2021 that the Chinese Coast Guard used water cannons against a Philippines supply mission off the Second Thomas Shoal.
