Pakistan Caretaker PM: Anwar-ul-Haq has been elected as the new caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan on Saturday. The name of Anwar-ul-Haq was agreed upon after hours of brainstorming between the outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the outgoing Leader of the Opposition, Raja Riaz. Anwar is the leader of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP). He will lead the government till the end of this year.

Who is Anwar-ul-Haq

Anwar-ul-Haq is the leader of the Balochistan Awami Party and is also a Member of Parliament from Balochistan. Anwar was elected to the Senate in 2018. These Kakars represent both Pashtuns and Balochs. He has completed his studies from Balochistan University and has done his Masters in Political Science, Sociology. Apart from this, he also contested the National Assembly elections from Quetta in 2008 on a Q-League ticket.

Let us inform that the tenure of the outgoing Shehbaz Sharif government ended on August 12. Because of this, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had recommended the dissolution of the National Assembly on August 9, three days before the mandatory term. After this, the dissolution of the assembly was announced. On the other hand, according to the constitution, the next general election has to be held within 90 days after the dissolution of the National Assembly.

At the same time, this time the general elections in the country may be delayed by a few months, as the outgoing government has approved the results of the new census. Due to which delimitation has become necessary before the general elections. In such a situation, it is believed that now there is a possibility of elections in the country by the end of the year. On the other hand, the difficulties of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan are not taking the name of abatement. Imran Khan is in jail in the Toshakhana case.
