Israel-Hamas War: The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has been extended for 2 more days. This will remain effective till Wednesday. The decision to extend the ceasefire was taken after pressure from Egypt, Qatar and America. According to media reports, this decision has been taken after the mediation of Qatar and Egypt. Meanwhile, Hamas released 11 more Israeli civilians late Monday. Which includes 9 children and 2 women.
On the other hand, Israel has also released 33 Palestinians, including 30 children and 3 women, from different jails of the country. Israel has so far released 150 Palestinians from its prisons, while Hamas has released 69 hostages. Which includes 50 Israeli hostages and 19 foreign citizens. Tuesday is the 53rd day of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
11 hostages were released
According to media reports, the 11 Israeli hostages released from Gaza were identified as belonging to five families. From the Cunio family, Sharon Aloni Cunio, Emma Cunio and Yuli Cunio were released. However, father David Cunio is still in captivity of Hamas in Gaza. Engel family members include Karina Engel-Bart, Mika Engel, Yuval Engel and father Ronel Engel, who is still imprisoned in Gaza.
Additionally, two members from the Calderón family were released, including Sahar Calderón and Erez Calderón. However, his father Ofer Calderon is still in Gaza. Two more members of the Yaakov family were released, including Orr Yaakov and Yagil Yaakov. However, his father Yair Yaakov and his girlfriend Meerav Tal are still under Hamas. Only one member of the Yahlomi family was released, identified as Aita Yahlomi. His father Ohad Yahlomi is being held hostage in Gaza.
America’s national spokesperson gave information
US national security spokesman John Kirby said Hamas had promised to release 20 women and children within the next two days of the ceasefire. Israel said it would release 60 Palestinians from prison in the next two days.
Situation in Gaza is getting worse day by day
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that the situation in Gaza is worsening day by day. The war should end, not a two-four day ceasefire. He said that the only solution to Gaza’s problems is a complete ceasefire. This is also in the interest of the people. Hamas should also release all prisoners without any conditions.
