India-Australia Dialogue: India-Australia two plus two talks today, many important issues will be discussed

India-Australia Two Plus Two Ministerial Dialogue: India and Australia will hold the second two plus two ministerial talks in New Delhi on Monday i.e. today. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will meet with Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles and Foreign Minister Penny Wong. Many important issues will be discussed in this meeting.

Expect to discuss these issues

The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying the ministers are expected to discuss a wide range of strategic, defense and security issues. These discussions will cover bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest to advance cooperation under the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both sides will also exchange views on shared priorities to strengthen cooperation. Both sides are also likely to take stock of the ongoing negotiations related to the economic cooperation agreement.

Marles had said before the visit that India is a major security partner for Australia. Also, said that our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is one of the practical, concrete actions that directly benefits the Indo-Pacific region. He said this year saw several firsts in India-Australia defense ties, including the visit of an Indian submarine to Perth and Australia hosting the Malabar exercise, and reflected the growing closeness of the security partnership.
