Vodafone Idea 5G Services: 5G service is already being provided in India by telecom companies Airtel and Reliance Jio. But now to compete with these companies, Vodafone Idea (Vi) is also preparing to roll out its 5G connectivity. This 5G service is expected to be launched in select areas within 6-9 months. This information was given by the company’s Chief Executive Akshay Mundra on Monday ahead of its Rs 18,000 crore follow-on public offering (FPO).

Rollout work will start after funds arrive
Akshay Mundra said that starting the 5G service is one of the objectives of raising capital from the public and once the funds come, the work of rolling it out will be started. He further said that with the introduction of 5G, it will account for 40% of the company’s total revenue in the next 24-30 months.

5G service will start in 9 months
Mundra said that an amount of Rs 5,720 crore has been allocated for the launch of this 5G service, the talks for which have already started. And it can be started within 6 to 9 months. However, Mundra did not share any specific information about the specific deadline or location for starting 5G service.

Vi’s FPO on 18th
Let us tell you that the Board of Directors of Vodafone Idea has approved the follow-on public offering (FPO) of equity shares worth up to Rs 18,000 crore. This FPO will start from 18th April and close on 22nd April. Its price band has been fixed at Rs 10-11 per equity share.
