Top 10 Most Selling Cars FY23: The Indian auto market was buzzing in the financial year 2022-23. Customers bought vehicles fiercely. FY23 has been a record-breaking year, especially for the passenger vehicles segment. In the last financial year-23, 3889545 units of PV have been sold. Earlier, the previous best of 3377436 units came in FY-19. Notably, Maruti Suzuki India had seven models in the top 10 best-selling cars in India in FY23, while two from Tata Motors and one from Hyundai Motor India also made it to the list. WagonR became the best selling car during the financial year, Nexon was the best selling SUV.

WagonR rocked

Maruti Suzuki WagonR retained its crown as the best selling car in India in FY-23 with sales of 2.12 lakh units in the domestic market. WagonR became the best selling car in FY22 as well with 1.89 lakh units. Coming second in terms of sales was the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which registered sales of 2.03 lakh units and consolidated its position as the most preferred premium hatchback in India. After this Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and K10 sold 1.80 lakh units. The Alto 800 has now been discontinued. Maruti Suzuki Swift was next in line with 1.77 lakh units.

Nexon dominates the SUV segment

Beating Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Punch, Tata Nexon emerged as the best selling SUV in FY23 with 1.72 lakh units. Behind Tata’s most popular model was the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, registering sales of 1.50 lakh units. The Hyundai Creta was behind the Tata Nexon in SUV sales, but it was the best-selling mid-size SUV in India in FY23 with 1.50 lakh units. After this, Maruti Suzuki Brezza remained in the list at 1.46 lakh units. It is followed by Tata Punch with sales of 1.34 lakh units.

Eeco van also sold well

The Maruti Suzuki Eeco has been on top of the van segment for a long time now. In FY23, it sold a whopping 1.31 lakh units in the domestic market.
