Mahindra Thar BS6 2 Engine: Indians are crazy about the off-roader SUV Mahindra Thar. Thar has created a stir in the market. Mahindra is also preparing to introduce Thar in a new avatar in the market soon, seeing the great response from the customers. Vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce the updated 2023 model of the Thar SUV. If reports are to be believed, Mahindra will launch the SUV as per Real Driving Emission Norms and BS6 Phase-II. However, there will be no feature upgrade.
As per a report in CarWale, the BS6 2nd model will feature RDE norms compliant E20 fuel-ready petrol and diesel engines. The current 4X4 model of the SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine, while the RWD variant gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Mahindra & Mahindra is also planning to update its existing SUV portfolio with the BS6 Phase 2 norms. These include the Mahindra XUV300, XUV700, Scorpio, Bolero, Bolero Neo and the Marazzo MPV.
Recently the company introduced two new color options of Mahindra Thar 4WD. These are Everest White and Blazing Bronze, which till now were only available for the 2WD model. Thar 4WD will be available in Everest White, Blazing Bronze, Aqua Marine, Red Rage, Napoli Black and Galaxy Gray color options. Earlier this month, the company increased the price of the Mahindra Thar RWD by Rs 50,000. The RWD variant of the Thar was launched in January 2023 with prices starting from Rs 9.99 lakh. Let us tell you that Mahindra Thar RWD comes in 3 variants, which include RWD Diesel MT variant, LX RWD Diesel MT trim variant and LX RWD Petrol AT variant.
