Mumbai The motion poster of Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee’s worship film ‘Raktabeej’ has been released.
Raktabeej, as it is titled, is a classy thriller and the first of its kind from renowned director duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee. Inspired by the Burdwan blasts in 2014 that shook Bengal and the entire country, the film is about the homecoming of a man who has an important portfolio, and how an accidental explosion at a firecracker unit changes his life. A great danger comes to the fore.
On 4 August, Windows Productions unveiled the motion poster of the film, marking the countdown to Durga Puja 2023. On October 2, 2014, which was the day of Maha Ashtami that year, a blast occurred in a two-storey building in Burdwan’s Khagragarh area. The local people informed the police, who immediately swung into action. When the police arrived, two women inside the building prevented them from going inside, threatened to blow up the building and destroyed many documents and evidence. He was arrested and the police recovered more than 50 improvised explosive devices from that house. An unforgettable event, it has left an indelible mark on Bengal.
