Indian Railway: Indian Railways is the fourth largest rail network in the world. Passengers travel by trains every day to reach their destination. You must have seen that most of the trains have blue colored coaches, which have been changed to yellow. The blue colored ones are called ICF coaches and the red colored ones are called LHB coaches. Some trains have yellow or blue colored coaches, while superfast, Rajdhani and premium trains have red coaches. After all, let us know what is the change in these two coaches.

blue coach
This coach is manufactured in Chennai. It is made by ICF Company. Whose full name is Integral Coach Factory since 1952. Due to the roof of this coach being made of Stunless, this coach is heavy. Due to the presence of spring in its bogie, it is able to balance the up and down shocks, but is not able to balance the side shocks. When the train runs at high speed, there is a loud sound of thunder at 80 decibels. Since it is equipped with air brakes, this coach stops after some distance when chain is pulled or brakes are applied. Due to the dynamos installed in this bogie, it has the ability to generate electricity from the battery. Its high speed is said to be 160, but due to the presence of dynamos, the train drivers do not run it above the speed of 120.

red coach
This coach is known as LHB coach, these coaches are more comfortable than ICF coach. The full name of this coach is Linke Hofman Busch Germani, it is manufactured in Kapurthala (Punjab). Due to the roof of this coach being made of Mildsted, it is lighter than the blue coach. Due to disc break in its bogie, the chain stops quickly in short distance while pulling or applying brakes. ICF coaches are 1.7 meters longer than blue coaches. In this coach, SAC has been used in the bogie to avoid side shock, while extra suspension has been provided in V save to avoid side shock. Which protects passengers from side shock. Therefore, passengers feel comfortable while traveling in this coach. The sound of this coach when running fast is up to 60 decibels. Since it does not have a dynamo, its top speed is 200 km/h. But train pilots do not run it at more than 160 speed. If there is no dynamo installed in it, a generator car is installed to supply electricity. Which provides electricity to all the coaches.

coach duration
ICF coaches are made of steel and are lighter than blue coaches. ICF reduces damage in case of an accident. Their duration is up to 25 years. These are used until the department rejects them. Whereas LHB coaches are made of stainless steel and its life is 30 years.
