Kaas Plateau
Kaas Plateau is situated at a distance of 24 km from Satara, Maharashtra, which is one of the attractive places of Maharashtra. Kaas Plateau is a valley of flowers, the view there is worth seeing. In the year 2012, because of the ‘Valley of Flowers’, this place was selected in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place is completely covered with a blanket of flowers during the rainy season. About 850 types of flowers are found in this valley. In which rare flowers like pink colored balsam flower, white orchid, yellow sonki, smithia and ceropegia are present as main flowers. While trekking, definitely capture the beauty of this valley in your camera.
Kaas Lake
If you want to see the beauty of the lake along with the flowers, then definitely visit Kaas Lake. Kaas Lake is known as Kaas Talab. Kaas Lake is situated near the Valley of Flowers, Kaas Plateau. The best time to see this lake is during the monsoon season.
How to reach Kaas Plateau and Kaas
If you want to go here by flight, you will have to go to the nearest airport, Pune. After this, one can easily reach Kaas Plateau by taking a taxi or bus from here. If you are planning to go by train, then you will have to come to Satara Railway Station. Here you can go to Kaas plateau by bus or taxi.
