The mythological belief of this temple is that after Lord Vishnu became the gatekeeper of King Bali, when Goddess Lakshmi could not see him. After this, Mata Lakshmi went to Narada Muni, a devotee of Lord Vishnu. Then Narad Muni told the whole story to Mata Lakshmi. Distressed by this, Mata Lakshmi asked Narad Muni the solution to Lord Vishnu’s salvation. On this, Narad Muni told Mother Lakshmi that she should go to King Bali on the full moon day of the month of Shravan and ask him for the liberation of the Vamana avatar by tying Rakshasutra. After that, on the full moon day of the month of Shravan, Mata Lakshmi tied Rakshasutra to King Bali and freed Vaman Avatar Lord Vishnu.

Offering

Because of getting freedom from Vamana avatar, the people of this place make offerings of butter and offer it to Lord Vishnu.
