Please inform that Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II of the Kachwaha dynasty established Jaipur on November 18, 1927. Bengal’s architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya had a major contribution in settling this city. This city of Rajasthan is surrounded by seven gates based on the seven horses of the Sun. Also, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh was a devotee of Lord Shri Krishna. This is the reason that one of these gates was named after Krishna Pal, which is now called Ajmeri Gate.
If we talk about how this city got its name Jaipur, then the answer is that the city was founded by Sawai Jai Singh. This is the reason why this city is called Jaipur. On the other hand, talk about the city becoming Pink City, it is believed that Prince Albert had given the name of Pink City to this city. In the year 1853, Queen Elizabeth of Britain and Prince Albert of Wales were about to visit Jaipur. In such a situation, the Maharaja, who was engaged in preparations to welcome both, had decorated the entire city.
Reason for becoming Pink City
While preparing to welcome Prince Albert, the Maharaja had the idea to paint the city in one colour. What was it then, moving forward on his idea, he decorated the entire city situated in the park with pink color. After this, when Prince Albert reached Jaipur, he was surprised to see the hospitality and pink view of the city and the first name Pink City came out of his mouth.
