Dandi, Gujarat

Dandi, near Surat, is the center of salt production in India. This is the place where the famous Dandi March was started by Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1930. Thousands of people followed Gandhi in this non-violent struggle for freedom. The place holds immense historical importance and is considered a milestone in India’s freedom struggle.
