Uttarkashi Mahapanchayat: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking a stay on the proposed Mahapanchayat at Purola in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. The court told the petitioner that this is an administrative matter, for this you should contact the High Court or the concerned authorities. Explain that the petitioner had earlier placed his demand before the district administration, but the administration did not accept the demand. After this the petitioner approached the Supreme Court, but the court also dismissed the petition.

President of Ulema-e-Hind wrote a letter to Shah
On the other hand, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Mahmood Asad Madani had also written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami demanding to stop the mahapanchayat.
