The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rains in many districts of Uttarakhand today i.e. on July 2 as well. Badrinath National Highway is getting closed repeatedly near Chhinka. Due to which common citizens including pilgrims and tourists are also facing trouble. The IMD has predicted more rains in some districts of Garhwal and Kumaon as well. He has issued yellow alert for Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri and orange alert for some areas of Kumaon.

The Yamunotri Highway in Uttarkashi has become very difficult due to the landslide near Orchha band. Small to big vehicles are plying on this route, but soon it may be completely closed. Therefore, in order to repair the road, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited has requested the district administration to stop the traffic for some time.
