At least 19 people have died in the last 24 hours due to heavy rains in UP. Also, schools have been closed in some districts due to waterlogging. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in the northeastern states also.

Heavy rain in UP

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the eastern region of Uttar Pradesh till September 14, while light rain will continue till September 17. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in many districts including Etawah, Auraiya, Gonda, Kannauj, Ayodhya and Basti. In Lucknow and Lakhimpur Kheri, schools were ordered to remain closed and people were asked not to step out in view of the possibility of severe lightning. Examinations in all basic schools were also postponed on Monday.

Weather condition of Uttarakhand

IMD has issued an orange alert in Dehradun, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand, warning of heavy rain on Wednesday, September 13. After forecast of heavy rain, yellow alert has been issued in different areas of 12 districts. Incessant rains led to landslides and house collapse in some areas of Tehri and Bageshwar districts. Schools have been closed in Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar amid the alert issued by the Meteorological Department.

Rajasthan weather information

According to IMD, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Rajasthan in the next few days. Scattered rain is expected over East Rajasthan on September 12 and 13. In the last 24 hours, heavy rain was recorded in some areas of Dholpur and Banswara districts. In this, maximum rainfall of 23 mm was recorded in Dholpur. According to the Meteorological Department, apart from this, light to moderate rain was recorded in many parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur and Ajmer.

Rain expected in these states also

Light to moderate rain, thunderstorm, lightning and at times heavy rain are likely over Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal in the coming days. IMD said that Odisha may also receive isolated very heavy rains on September 14-15. Besides, there is a possibility of rain in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Telangana. Rain has also been predicted in Assam and Meghalaya.
