The DM of the district has decided to demolish a part of the building of ‘Sarva Seva Sangh’, an organization engaged in propagating Gandhian ideas located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Famous lawyer Prashant Bhushan filed a petition against this decision in the Supreme Court, which has been fixed for hearing on July 10.

A bench of CJI DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha, while taking cognizance of senior advocate Prashant Bhushan’s plea on Friday, said that they can go and inform the District Magistrate of Varanasi that we will hear the matter on Monday. Ready for hearing. The building of the institution will not be demolished during this period. Explain that advocate Prashant Bhushan had appealed against the decision of DM of Varanasi for immediate hearing and stay on the order to demolish the building. Prashant Bhushan says that Acharya Vinoba Bhave founded the Sarva Seva Sangh in 1948 to propagate the ideas of President Mahatma Gandhi. Now the Varanasi district administration wants to demolish it. The date of July 10 has been fixed on this matter in the Supreme Court.

According to the revenue records, this land belongs to the Railways: District Magistrate

It may be noted that the Sarva Seva Sangh had earlier filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court against the Northern Railway’s notice. This building of the institution is built in an area of ​​about 13 acres. It has been said on behalf of Sarva Seva Sangh that it had purchased land for the campus in Pargana Dehat of Varanasi from the Government of India through three registered sale deeds in 1960, 1961 and 1970. On the other hand, the Varanasi District Magistrate says that as per the revenue records, this land belongs to the Railways.
