UP Budget 2023: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has presented the state budget today. This is the second budget of the Yogi government. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented this 7th budget of the Yogi government in UP in 2017. This budget of Uttar Pradesh is considered important in view of the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year.
While presenting the budget, UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in the country with 24 crores. He said that our State is not only India’s largest labor and consumer market, but the State is also endowed with abundant natural resources on the banks of the fertile Ganga plains. He said that the State’s contribution to the country’s GDP is more than 80 percent.
- The Finance Minister said that I am happy to inform that in 2021-2022, the State’s Gross State Domestic Product (GDP) registered a growth of 16.8 percent, which was higher than the country’s growth rate.
- For 2023-2024, an increase of 19 percent has been projected. In this era of global recession, the growth rate of the state’s economy is encouraging.
- He informed that so far more than 1.53 crore construction laborers and 3,14,611 construction sites have been registered in the state.
- Under the Disability Assistance and Labor Death Scheme, provision has been made to give Rs 5 lakh on death of workers at workplace, Rs 4 lakh on permanent disability and Rs 3 lakh on partial disability.
- With the aim of providing quality education free of cost to the children of laborers in the state, one residential school has been established in each division of the state.
- The youth society will move forward with this budget and at the same time the farmers will get maximum strength. The Yogi government of the state has talked about giving full respect to women under the budget. Along with this, special emphasis has also been laid on the infrastructure of the state from UP Budget 2023.
- So far 6,65,977 people have been registered under PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana.
- Marking the main hotspots of most child labor affected districts of the state, 490 gram panchayats or urban wards have been declared child labor free. Naya Savera Yojana has also been implemented, in which 30,287 children have been linked to the main stream of education.
- A provision of Rs 100 crore is proposed for the Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana for the unorganized sector workers.
- A provision of Rs 12 crore is proposed for the unorganized sector workers under the Chief Minister’s Accidental Insurance Scheme.

State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that this time the budget is going to be the biggest, which will give a boost to women, youth, farmers and industry. Before presenting the budget, Suresh Khanna went to the temple and offered prayers. He also talked about focusing on religious and tourism included in the budget. Along with this, he said that religion can lead to development. At the same time, the entire focus of the state government is going to be on the infrastructure, medical of the state included in the budget. The Finance Minister said that the government has done the work of providing relief to the farmers in the budget. He said that this time the budget is on big provision for the farmers. This budget will prove to be a milestone in fulfilling Chief Minister Yogi Sarkar’s dream of 1 trillion economy.
