A major road accident has taken place in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Here the railing of the tractor-trolley bridge broke and fell down. 20 people have died in this accident, while 15-20 people have been injured. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. All the devotees had come to fill water in the Garra river, but in the meanwhile this accident happened near Birsinghpur village of Tilhar police station area. After this accident, there was panic among the people. There was shouting all around. This information was immediately given to the police. As soon as the information was received, the police and the rescue team reached the spot and started the rescue operation.
CM Yogi Adityanath expressed grief
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the accident in Garra river in Shahjahanpur. The Chief Minister has expressed condolences while wishing peace to the departed soul. In a tweet, the CM wrote that the loss of lives in the accident in Shahjahanpur district is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved families. Administrative officers have been instructed to conduct relief and rescue work on a war footing and for proper treatment of the injured. Praying to Lord Shri Ram for speedy recovery of the injured. As per the instructions of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the district administration officials, SDRF and NDRF teams have reached the spot and engaged in relief work.
Know how the accident happened
It is being told that the accident took place when the tractor-trolley had left for the Bhagwat Katha being held in Ajmatpur village. During this, after consuming water, both the trolleys were following each other. Both the trolleys started overtaking each other. Meanwhile, the railing of the tractor-trolley bridge broke and fell down. Police said that the bodies are being sent for postmortem. The matter is under investigation.
