RRTS Launch Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 17 km long priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). He also flagged off the RapidX Train connecting Sahibabad to Duhai Depot marking the launch of RRTS in India. The train will start running for passengers from Saturday i.e. 21st October. Also, the entire corridor is expected to be operational by June 2025. Meanwhile, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced that RRTS trains will be known as NaMo Bharat. The priority section will have five stations which include Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot. Giving information, an official said that the trains will operate between 6 am to 11 pm. The foundation stone of the larger Delhi-Meerut corridor was laid by PM Modi in March 2019. Shubhank Aggarwal, a local resident who reached the venue in Sahibabad, said that it would be very important. This will be very convenient for all the passengers going from Delhi to Meerut. Right now, it takes a lot of time to reach Meerut. Once the RRTS corridor becomes operational, traffic will become easier. Daily passengers of the route will get convenience. “I am very excited to see our Prime Minister,” said Rishita Agarwal, a 10-year-old girl who came early with her father to attend the inauguration ceremony.
