Noida Lift Accident: The last worker injured in the lift accident in the under construction Dream Valley of Greater Noida West has died during treatment. A total of 9 laborers were in the lift at the time of the accident that occurred on September 15. Four laborers died on the spot after the lift fell, while the remaining five were admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The injured workers died one after another during treatment. It was expected that the ninth laborer, who was fighting between life and death, would recover and reach his home, but after eight days of fighting, he too stopped breathing.
According to media reports, construction of Amrapali’s Dream Valley Society is going on in Greater Noida West. Here on September 15, nine workers had boarded the lift. Suddenly the lift fell down. Four laborers died on the spot in the accident. As soon as information about the accident was received, police and rescue teams reached the spot and the injured were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital. The condition of the injured was very serious, due to which prayers were being made that somehow their lives could be saved. But, the very next day on September 16, four other workers died. There was only one labourer, who was fighting between life and death. Everyone hoped that at least the life of this laborer would be saved, but on Friday night this hope was also shattered.
Compensation amount of Rs 25-25 lakh
The district administration had announced a compensation amount of Rs 25 lakh each for the workers who lost their lives in the lift accident. Noida District Magistrate says that out of the total compensation amount, Rs 5 lakh will be given by the Court Receiver and Rs 20 lakh will be given by NBCC. Action is being taken against those responsible for the accident. On the other hand, the police said that the body of the last laborer injured in the accident has been handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
