ED action in UP: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Shahnawaz Ahmed Jilani and his two accomplices Vipin Sharma and Viraj Singh in a case of cheating foreign nationals to the tune of Rs 54 crore. All the three accused have been arrested from Lucknow. The Enforcement Directorate also raided 14 locations in Jaipur, Mathura, Nagpur, Prayagraj, Kanpur and Lucknow in this case, in which Rs 90.37 lakh has been seized. It is being told that these people used to cheat foreign nationals through call centers on the pretext of getting them loans at cheap rates. In this, these people have so far cheated about Rs 54 crore.

When ED raided a call center in Mathura, many documents were recovered from there. On examination of these documents, it was found that they were cheating not only Indians but also foreigners. Also, the documents revealed that the accused have set up such fake call centers at several places. Two fake call centers were being run in Mathura itself. During interrogation, the ED came to know that the accused used to operate fake call centers only during the night. They have also given shelter to citizens of many other countries including America, Philippines and Canada. Also it was found that most of the people working in these call centers are the same people who were earlier involved in fraud through Jaipur call center. He was caught by the SOG/ATS and Cyber team of Rajasthan Police.

According to media reports, shocking facts had also come to the fore in the Jaipur call center busted case. After this, the ED started investigation by registering a case of money laundering against the accused on the basis of the FIR registered by the Rajasthan Police. After this, it was found that these accused have opened a company in America with a fake name, in which people named Dummy have been kept, which is David Morrison. In this case, ED has now arrested three accused from Lucknow. He was produced in the court, from where he has been sent on remand till July 5.
