Mayawati on caste census: As the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are coming closer, political parties have started appearing in action regarding their agendas. In this sequence, after Samajwadi Party, now Bahujan Samaj Party has also demanded to conduct caste census. In fact, BSP has once again made the demand for caste census in the all-party meeting held before the winter session of Parliament starting from December 4. Former UP CM Mayawati has reiterated the demand for conducting caste census at the national level in the all-party meeting called on Saturday. BSP supremo Mayawati said the central government should take ‘immediate positive steps’ in this regard.

Targeted at BJP

Launching a strong attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, Mayawati said the public’s demand for a caste-based census has given the ruling party in the country ‘sleepless nights’. He said that there is unprecedented interest/awareness towards caste census among the people of the country, victims of casteist exploitation and atrocities and suffering from inflation, poverty, unemployment, bad roads, water, electricity, education, health and law and order. He said that BJP has had sleepless nights and Congress is busy covering up its crimes.

Central government should conduct caste census

The BSP supremo further said that the central government should ensure that people get their rights in the true sense. However, various state governments are half-heartedly trying to satisfy public sentiments to a great extent by conducting caste census in the name of ‘social justice’, but its true solution is possible only when the central government conducts the correct caste census at its level. Get it done. at the national level and ensure that people are given their rights.

The opposition is building its 2024 Lok Sabha election agenda around Other Backward Class (OBC) politics and caste census. The Bihar government released the results of its recently concluded survey of castes in the state, which revealed that Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) constitute more than 63% of Bihar’s population.
