Investigation of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi murder case handed over to NIA.
Sukhdev Gogamedi Murder Case: The Home Ministry on Tuesday handed over the investigation into the murder of Rashtriya Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Gogamedi to the anti-terrorism investigation agency National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Home Ministry handed over the investigation to the NIA in view of the involvement of high-profile gangsters in the murder. The Central Investigation Agency has registered a case in this matter.
Let us tell you that Rashtriya Karni Sena chief was shot dead by three shooters at his residence in Jaipur, Rajasthan on November 5. Soon after the murder, gangster Rohit Godara, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for Gogamedi’s murder. Both shooters, Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, were arrested in Chandigarh on November 9. He told the police that Godara had given the contract for the murder. Police also found in the preliminary investigation that while absconding, the shooter was in contact with Godara’s close associates Virendra Chauhan and Danaram. There was a dispute between Godara and Gogamedi over extortion from some businessmen and officials suspect that this may have led to the murder.
A woman was also arrested
At the same time, on December 11, Rajasthan Police arrested a woman who provided weapons and arranged accommodation to one of the shooters involved in the murder of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Giving details on the case, the police said that the woman, Pooja Saini, and her husband, Mahendra Meghwal, had provided weapons to one of the shooters, Nitin Fauji, who had been staying at the couple’s house in Jaipur for about a week before carrying out the murder on December 5. Lived in a rented flat.
