Therefore, keeping this belief in mind, the men of the village marry for the second time, so that they can have a son and carry on the lineage. Generally here the second wife is seen as the one who carries forward the family lineage and gives birth to a son.
What do educated youth think about tradition?
While this tradition of bigamy continues even today, young people, especially those who are educated, do not agree with it. They feel this is not right. Some villagers say he had no option but to remarry because his first wife could not have children. At the same time, some other men say that they wanted a son, so when their first wife had a daughter, they remarried.
Love like sisters is seen between step-daughters
Usually, when a man remarries, it can create tension in the family. Especially among step-mothers, the figure is thirty-six. Generally, no woman likes her daughter-in-law to have a broken eye. But, things are different in Ramdev. Here the first wife welcomes the second wife warmly and treats her like a sister. Both the step-mothers share a good relationship with each other.
