Punjab: A big police operation is going on in many districts of Punjab today. Punjab Police is conducting raids to arrest gangsters close to Goldie Brar, who are operating from Canada and Britain. This operation is being conducted in many districts of the state from around 7 am. Several teams of senior officers of Punjab Police are involved in this operation. The operation also aims to disrupt the nexus between terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers based in India and abroad. So that, there can be some reduction in anti-national activities in India.
Even before this, Punjab Police had taken major action
Even before this, Punjab Police had conducted an operation against the close associates of gangster Goldie Brar. During the operation conducted by Punjab Police in the month of February, 1,490 suspected hideouts of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar were raided. The raid was carried out by at least 200 teams of Punjab Police and involved around 2,000 policemen from across the state.
DGP had given information on the matter
DGP Gaurav Yadav had said that a special cordon and search operation was planned after police interrogated several people arrested after busting the module backed by Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar. He further said that objectionable material has also been seized from their possession. He said that the electronic devices seized from them were sent for forensic examination. During its investigation, the police team had also examined the accounts of bank transactions from abroad.
Many terrorist modules busted so far
Let us tell you that from March 2022 till now, Punjab Police has busted 25 terrorist modules and arrested 160 terrorists. It also arrested more than 500 gangsters and recovered several weapons and vehicles used in criminal activities during that period.
