Parkash Singh Badal Passes Away: Former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal passed away on Tuesday. According to the information, Parkash Singh Badal was ill for several days and due to this he was admitted to the hospital. He was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali for treatment. Parkash Singh Badal passed away at the age of 95. He was the Chief Minister of Punjab for 5 times.
Former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal was also kept in the ICU of a private hospital on Monday. He was then admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal was complaining of trouble in breathing.
Earlier also in June 2022, he had a complaint of chest pain. After this he was admitted to the hospital. Then this year in September 2022, after his health deteriorated again, he was admitted to PGI Chandigarh.
Prakash Singh Badal started politics in the year 1947. He first contested the Sarpanch election and won. After this, in 1957, he contested the first assembly elections. Then in 1969, he won again. Badal was also the minister of the ministries of Panchayat Raj, Animal Husbandry, Dairy etc. till the year 1969-70. Apart from this, Parkash Singh Badal became the Chief Minister of Punjab in 1970-71, 1977-80, 1997-2002. Along with this, he was also the leader of the opposition in 1972, 1980 and 2002. He was also elected MP when Morarji Desai was the Prime Minister. At the same time, after contesting the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, he also became the oldest candidate.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that he was deeply saddened by the demise of Prakash Singh Badal. He was a towering figure of Indian politics, and a remarkable statesman who contributed immensely to our country. The PM further said that he worked tirelessly for the progress of Punjab and supported the state in difficult times.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to him by tweeting. He wrote that Mr. Parkash Singh Badal ji was a political stalwart who played an important role in the politics of Punjab for several decades. In his long political and administrative career, he made many notable contributions towards the welfare of farmers and other weaker sections of our society.
