Lashkar-e-Taiba Terror Module: Punjab Police has foiled a major conspiracy to create unrest in the state before the festive season. Punjab Police busted the terrorist module of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) after the arrest of two people in Amritsar on Saturday i.e. today. A huge quantity of weapons have been recovered from both of them. Both of them are said to be residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

DGP gave information

Giving information in a tweet, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said that the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Amritsar, in a joint operation with the central agency, busted a LeT module operated by active LeT member Firdous Ahmed Bhat and arrested two. People have been arrested. Police have seized explosive devices (IEDs), two hand grenades, a pistol with two magazines, 24 cartridges, a timer switch, eight detonators and four batteries from them. According to media reports, Lashkar terrorists had planned a major terrorist attack before the festive season.

Earlier two ISIS terrorists were arrested

Earlier, a major terrorist conspiracy to target important places in Punjab was foiled. Two terrorists of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group were arrested during intelligence-based operations. Giving information, Punjab Police said that the terrorists were arrested from Gujranwala and Rawalpindi cities. The terrorists have been identified as Zakirullah and Muhammad Isha. About 1.5 kg of explosives, eight detonators, 13 feet of safety fuse wire and banned literature were recovered from them.

In August, the CTD arrested around 30 terrorists of proscribed organizations, mostly ISIS and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), during operations in different areas of Punjab. The arrested list also included five women terrorists of terrorist group ISIS in the cities of Lahore and Sheikhupura.
