A massive fire broke out at Unistar Technoplast Pvt Ltd Toy Factory near Jandiali in Ludhiana, Punjab. This incident of fire took place on Sunday evening around 5 pm. The fire was so severe that it took more than four hours to control it. Dozens of fire brigade vehicles from many other stations including Ludhiana’s Samrala reached to control the fire.

Local people told that plastic toys are made in this factory. The factory remains closed on Sundays. When smoke was seen coming out of the factory in the evening, the owner of the factory was informed. By the time the factory owners arrived, the fire had spread all around. The fire spread around the factory and due to the plastic toys inside, the fire spread rapidly. However, dozens of vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot and after a lot of effort, the fire was brought under control.

There is no fire station nearby

The people of the area were horrified to see the flames and plumes of smoke from the factory. Being a Sunday, there was a holiday in the factory, due to which no one was present inside. Due to this loss of life was avoided. Fire brigade officer Rajinder, who was present on the spot, said that it was difficult to control the fire because there was no fire station nearby. About 8 km from here one has to go to fill water in the car. Fire officials suspected that a short circuit might have caused the fire. Sumit Arora, the owner of the factory Unistar Technoplast Pvt Ltd, told that at present the cause of the fire in the factory has not been ascertained. There was a lot of material in the factory, which was burnt to ashes.
